Sometimes you just want to have a “nosh” or a snack. Nosh is the Yiddish word for Snack. So once you decide if it will be parve (neutral) or dairy (“chalovy” in Hebrew, “milchig” in Yiddish) you prepare yourself the snack.

This is a delicious kosher melted cheese appetizer to try the next time you want dairy, but not your traditional melted cheese sandwich.

The items used in this kosher cheese appetizer are:

  1 slice of toasted bread
  1 small piece of butter
  1 tomato sliced
1 piece of cut green pepper
1 slice of your favorite Miller's Cheese (such as  Miller's American, Muenster etc)

Since the bread is already toasted, simply spread a bit of butter on the bread.
Then place a sliced tomato, pile the slice of green pepper also on top of the bread.
To finish this appetizer off, place a piece of your favorite cheese on top.
Place the open-faced kosher cheese appetizer in an oven for a few seconds until the Miller's Cheese is melted.

Serve the appetizer hot.

Enjoy in good health!
